Read theory | Before School

Before school | poem

   Written by Read theory
(Poem below)

In the morning, my alarm clock rings. It’s loud! The sound wakes me and I hit the snooze button. Thankfully, the noise stops. I stretch but it just makes me yawn—I don’t feel very energetic. I want to pull the blanket back over my head, but I don’t. I get out of bed. I have lots of things to do before school.

First, I have to change my clothes. So I take off my dirty clothes and toss them on the floor. Then I go to the closet and find my favorite red pants. I also find a white shirt with red fish on it. I like fish, but I can’t find any red socks. Oh, well. I choose orange socks instead. At least they match my orange shoes.

My mom comes in and says, “I don’t see a maid around here! You should pick up your clothes. And make your bed, too.” Reluctantly, I obey. I put my clothes in the bin and make my bed neatly. Then I get a reward. Mom says, “When you get home from school, you can ride your bicycle.” I love to ride my bicycle!

After I brush my teeth and hair, I sit at the breakfast table. For breakfast, my dad prepares a feast. I eat eggs, toast, and a banana. Delicious! Then I drink a glass of milk all the way to the bottom. Breakfast is my favorite meal.

I'm not the only one who needs to eat; my kitten needs breakfast, too. Since she is my pet, feeding her is my duty. She really likes milk, but I give her cat food. After she eats, we play on the floor. I throw a ball and she runs after it. Sometimes she even catches it with her paws!

Then it's time to go to school. Quickly, I grab my green backpack and head out the door. I don’t want to be late because music class is first. I don’t want to miss it because love to sing!

Today on my school schedule I had to complete 3 read theory's and post about one that I completed, and here is one poem/short story.

This app is for school kids to help in their knowledge of remembering and or reading.

This poem/story is about a person that is describing their morning routine using descriptive  language:)

  2. Hey Taylor, Rhys here from T1. Nice poem Taylor I don't think I could have written it better. I like how you included some adverbs like 'reluctantly' and 'quickly'. Do you consider yourself a writer? Great work Taylor, keep it up!
